Paper Leaf Garland

I have been seeing a lot of garlands done up for fall in blog land and wanted to make one of my own. I had all of the material on hand.......

       Assorted scrapbook paper
Material (for bows, ribbon could be used too),
  jute,
leaf template (bought an assorted bag at Michael's)
  glue
distressing ink (I used tea dyed)

And this is what I came up with.....

I cut all the leaves by hand, distressed the edges with ink, ripped the fabric to create bows and glued it all to a piece of jute. (I love my pub mirror I have had it for years)

I love how this came out, simple and easy. I just keep thinking of the possibilities that I could do...pumpkins, bats, witch hats or even for Christmas....mittens, stockings or trees.

Happy Crafting !!!!!

Glass table tops and a 4 year old.......

When we moved into are new apartment we had no living room furniture. So hubby promised me that we could go shopping (3 months later) we found a deal. I got a sofa, love seat, coffee table and 2 end tables, hubby got a 42" plasma TV. I love the furniture and it was a great deal. Only problem I am finding is the wonderful fingerprints that are all over the tables, courtesy of our 4 year old. Well I came up with a solution for now anyway to go along with my fall decor

                                                     Table before

Table after......I LOVE burlap

Table with fall decor

All I did was remove the glass, cut the burlap a little larger in size and used tape to adhere it underneath and place it back on the table. I love the dark would and didn't want to hide it with a tablecloth. And the 4 year old would take the round place mats off the table and use them as dolly blankets.

If it does get stained or dirty its cheap easy enough to replace
I still have the other end table and coffee table to do (and decorate!!!)

Creative Picture Gallery

I spent my Labor Day holiday working on decorating my home (in general & for Fall) I rent, the walls are WHITE and we can't paint...ugh. So I need to get real creative to tone down all of these BRIGHT WHITE walls.

First project of the day was dealing with this wall in the dining room near the kitchen. I have a lovely buzzer smack dab in the middle of it and from day of one of living here kept wondering what to do with this wall. Well I finally came up with an answer.

Create a Picture Gallery !!!!!

and frame that dang buzzer !!!!!!!!!

I stiil need to find some more pictures/prints to fill in some more. I want to add some more frames along the bottom, time to pull out the black spray paint. I just filled in the empty frame with scrapbooking paper for now (I am so addicted to this and I don't even scrapbook) I was actually inspired by "Under the Table and Dreaming" by Stephanie Lynn to do this. {here}

Thanks Stephanie for the inspiration.

Wee Little Pumpkins

I whipped these up last night, very simple and easy, using the same technique as other pumpkins but I wanted them on a smaller scale.

Material needed: Assorted Felt colors, needle and thread, stuffing (I used cotton balls) and cinnamon sticks
Cut a circle out of the felt (I used a coffee can lid), stitch around the perimeter to gather, pull tight and add stuffing, Slip in a cinnamon stick and tie thread off. And you have a mini pumpkin.
I arranged mine on a cream color plate/pedestal for display. Pretty and smells yummy with the cinnamon.
