Wee Little Snowman

                           Remember these Wee Little Pumpkins.......

They all got packed away with the Fall stuff
So now we have a new little guy.......

Wee Little Snowman

Just as easy as the pumpkins to make {here} I just glued the together, stitched a small top hat, scrap of felt for his scarf and a toothpick painted orange for his nose. Use some baker's twine to make a hanger and added him to my tree.

Ruffled Felt Garland

I have a smaller tree in my dining room that I put my collection of silver christmas crosses on. This collection is precious to me and I haven't put it out in a few years but this year I really wanted too. So I picked up a 5ft skinny tree from the Christmas Tree Shop for $10. I started placing my crosses on it and it looked so bland. My goal this year is not to buy anything to decorate with (the tree was a birthday present to me so it doesn't count...lol)

I need garland for my big tree and found this idea over on Doing My Own Blog Thing and fell in love with it. I had some material that would work great. So it got me thinking...I need something that would POP. Digging through my fabric pile I came across some red felt.

I love making ruffles with fabric on my sewing machine, its fast and easy. I cut the felt into strips and ran them through and I am thrilled with the results. Just what my little tree needed.

( I give up trying to rotate this dang pics )

You can find alot of tutorials on making ruffles.
My cross collection is from Reed and Barton Silversmiths.

Black Friday and the Hubs

I just could not bring myself to head to the stores today, my plans for the holiday gift giving is pretty much going to be handcrafted. Well that won't sit well with the 4 year old. She sits with the ads and says I want this and I want that ( trying to explain to her that "Santa" can't bring "everything" to her is becoming a difficult topic) and to top that everything she wants has to have a princess theme to it. She got me with the Target ad with the 7 princess dolls on the back page. A cringed at the thought of fighting for that and unfortanely on line ordering was not an option.

The Hubs works the 3rd shift and he had to go in at midnight, we share a car so being at Target at 4am was not going to happen and with him being at work dragging the 4 year old along wouldn't work for the "Santa". The Hubs knew I was stressing about this so after working a 9 hour night he stopped at Target on his way home and got it !!!! Along with some movies she wants too !!!

The best thing he did and also brought me home a Christmas Tree, I have a tradition of it going up the day after Thanksgiving and we had lost ours 2 years ago ( we didn't have a tree last year) What a guy !!! He made 2 ladies very happy today (the 4 year old just doesn't know it yet)

I am participating in Infarrantly Creative and Tatertots and Jello’s Blog Hop for a chance to win a Mint Cleaner. It is the revolutionary machine that cleans your hard floor surfaces for you.

My Thanksgiving.....

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was simple and quiet with exception of the 4 year old that decided to have one of her "bad" days.

Today I am participating in "Snapshots of Life" over on Eighteen 25. They post a time on Wednesday to snap a picture on Thursday of what you are doing/seeing at that time and then post the picture on Friday (its my first time posting over there) So my picture consisted of  me off dealing with the 4 year old and my hubs cleaning up after our dinner. This is the result.......

Do you want to know the funny thing about this?
We do have a DISHWASHER !!!!!!!!

Take two......

Well alright I told myself I would keep up with this and well ummmmm...I haven't. Things happen, LIFE happens and changes everything. So now with the holidays coming I am excited to share some of my ideas and see what everyone else is doing, creating and sharing. I have been drooling over some of the ideas I have been seeing already.

Happy Creating !!!!
