Valentine PANIC

What do you do when your 4 year olds Pre-school teacher tells you on Tuesday at 3pm that the class's Valentine's Party is Wednesday (the next day) ??? Me....I panic. I had been planning on something and trying to figure out what I needed to complete something and thought at least I would have until the end of the week or weekend to complete. Oh well sometimes the best laid plans don't always work. So I looked at what I had on hand (we were asked not to include sweets, she is in a nut allergy room) Soooooooo....I sent to hubs to Friendly's. They have ice cream coupons for sale. Only $1 for 5. It entitles a person to one free kid's ice cream cone. Sounds great right. So for $2.00 spent (she has 6 classmates so I had to get 2 sheets of coupons)

Alright so far so good but of course I could not just have her hand them the coupon.
Digging into my supplies we came up with an envelope for them.
Cardstock, glue stick, scissors, twine and letter stamps
plus a great tag from A Little Lovely

Valentine's done !!!!!!
Yeah me.

Paint Chip Pennant Banner

I have kept my Valentine decor very simple but, I am loving seeing what everyone else is doing and it makes me want to create more. Remember this pile I snatched picked up from Lowes......

Well last night I was sitting in the Dining Room Project Room and its looks right into my Kitchen.
(my small little dark kitchen)
I have another "fantle" hanging on the only blank wall I have in there and of course its the wall I stare at.
It needed something, a little touch of love.
Out came the paper cutter, ribbon, and those paint chips

perfect !!!!

My life with the 4 Year Old.....

Me and the 4 year old have been cooped up at home with all of the wonderful winter weather we have been having and today FINALLY she had school. After her long 2 1/2 hour day I came upon this......nothing like stretching out on the living room floor after a long day of gluing, singing and having a snack.

And now after this photo session she is demanding pancakes for dinner.
Don't you love my Entertainment Center ??
Two foot lockers and an Ikea foot stool. Isn't it lovely?....ugh.
I am on the look out for something the is a little more pleasing to the eye and not alot of money.

Organized Challenge Day # ??? yeah this kind of got away from me too.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED this challenge. I LOVE Toni over at A Bowl for of Lemons for doing this. Believe me this was an eye opening experience and I do plan to complete and post about all of the challenges. So stayed tuned !!!

It's kind of Organized ???

Now that the 21 day Challenge is over Toni is having a weekly challenge. This sounds great. I can plan the challenges out a bit more than trying to squeeze them into my day. So I'm signing up once again for Toni's new challenge (yes it started this past Sunday but better late then never I say...lol) So come join me and all the others who want to get organized (it is one of my goals for 2011)

Waffle...Wiffle...Balls

I have been wanting to make one of these Valentine Topiary ever since I saw this over on Craftomaniac. (Ok I'll admit she is one of my blog crushes !!!!!) I went to pick up some supplies to make this beautiful thing. Now I have not bought styrofoam other than from the Dollar Store in a very looooong time and wow its expensive and I was using my coupon on something else I needed. Then I remembered I have a bunch of these left over from another project......

Wiffle Balls !!!!!!
4 for $1.00
Now thats more of my cup of tea.
(I had on planned on using paper and packing tape to create my shape I needed but the 4 year old used them as snowballs and kept throwing them. Cheap and easy entertainment I then thought.)

So I gathered everything up and was ready to go and then of course the 4 year old got invloved. She saw cupcake liners and to her that means cupcakes and she would not let me use them. Seriously she got all upset after I glued one on. Alrighty then...now what ?????
I had just made my beautiful, lovely, just what I wanted Coffee Filter Wreath

So I had extra filters laying around. Yeah Me !!!!
So with the Wiffle Balls and the Coffee Filters I came up with this.

I am liking loving the coffee filters.
I can use this for a while other than Valentine's
Just change the ribbon and heart on pail and this will work for Spring too.
That is if we have a Spring I mean come on already I am beginning to think I'll be looking at snow until July 4th at the rate we are going....ok enough venting for today.

So I introduce you to my Valentine Topiary Tree

My Poofy Tree
(or as the 4 year old calls it Poopy Tree)

Happy Crafting !!!!!
