My Creative Crafting Area......... Part I

I drool over the "Craft/Creative" Areas that I see all over blog land and wish someday I'll have something like that. That someday I can have a room dedicated to just me and my creativity. I was getting tired of the look that my dining room table was having. You all know the look.....covered in craft supplies, on going projects and whatever else landed there. Unfortunately with this dinner wasn't happening there either. What is a Crafter to do? I say take the Dining Room by the horns and run with it. Well re-arrange it. We hardly entertain and its not like I host huge dinner parties (it would be fun to someday) So instead of taking over the room, we still need a place to eat. I took over a wall. Of course its a focal wall but who wouldn't want to stare at pretty crafty things all day? Am I right? I used what I had, sorted things out, hung some things up and got my dining table back.

I took a hutch that I never really used only to pile stuff on and took the top off and I now have a nice area to work and its perfect height to stand at. It will get painted a nice color someday.

I add a big shelf above it to hold some supplies at arms reach. Added some pretty things too

I love re-purposing old glass candle jars for storage

I love wrapping my ribbon around a popsicle stick. It makes it easy to see what you have.

(I have seen this done with old fashion clothespins too)

I am loving it !!!

(I'll admit I still use the dining table sometimes but its so much easier to clean up for a meal)

Still working on either side. One side has a bookcase for some more storage and pretty things to look at and the other has a small table for my sewing machine.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

I have a very bad habit of walking into the house and kicking off my shoes under the dining table.

the 4 year old loves to play with her toys in my shoes

Yes I know they should be put away everyday and not produce any more clutter

I noticed this the other day.......

Her shoes piled up on the floor were she plays.

She should really put her shoes away too.

Dollar Bloom Bag

Alright my last post was my pity party. I have sulked, kicked things and said a few bad words but really all I can do is look ahead and CRAFT. It's great therapy, for me anyway.


I found this tote at Dollar Tree last week. It looks like a tote from LL Bean,  Its a very light weight canvas fabric but hey for a buck its worth it. I am loving the pink but it came in other colors too. I whipped up a few ruffled blooms and attached with pins so they can be removed. This has turned into my go bag. I keep everything in it for days the 4 year old and I spend the day out. It really is a good size tote.

I might need to pick up a few more to decorate.

Craft O Maniac Monday party

Can someone lend me a shovel?

Do you know how when you hope and pray and dream that something really BIG is going to happen and you start planning, getting ideas in your head, and get all giddy about the entire thing. Well it has happened to me. Its not completely dead in the water as they say but boy I feel like I am in a ditch and can't get out.

Can someone lend me a shovel?

Life goes on as they say and things happen for a reason. I am going to follow that philosophy for now anyway and wait to see what can happen next.

Good news is I am still trying to open up a shop. Soon I hope. Cross my fingers.

Good news is I have been having fun making things and hope to have some posted this week.

And the BEST news of all is the smile on the 4 years old face on Easter.
