Now I didn't make this bookmark

It was a gift to the 5 year old from a Student Teacher in her Kindergarten Class.

I adore it.

I think more than the 5 year old.

Seriously..... Can he be any cuter???

Craft sticks, pom poms, googly eyes and chenille stems

Seriously....Very easy.

I love giving books as gifts.

This might just be a nice added touch to it.

Now her school is really big on reading.

And she is signed up for a Reading Club at her Library

So he is getting alot of use.

We read everyday.

And she is getting better at it.

1st grade here we come !!!

Patriotic Jute Banner

I haven't really decorated for 4th of July.

And its a week from today.

 I needed a little something.

And I love my banners.

I had some jute webbing on hand.

The stuff used for upholstery.

You can find it in the Home Decor section at  Joann's.

It was so simple to put together.

Supplies Needed.

Jute Webbing

Wooden Stars

Paint

Twine

Buttons

Scissors, glue, paint brush

 I cut five pieces of jute webbing 6" in length and notched one end.

Paint Stars, Glue to twine by folding over end

Glue stars and buttons on

Hang up and enjoy !!!

Summer Mantel - By the Seashore

I have been working on my Summer Mantel.

Even though Summer has been here for months.

The 5 year old and I have been busy shell collecting

So I knew I wanted to incorporate them.

The inspiration.....By the Seashore.

I pulled back out my trusty dictionary pages canvases

(these make such a difference on the white walls)

I gathered lanterns and glass jars

shells and books

and added a touch for the 4th.

Best thing is we can just keep adding shells as we find them.

I love how simple and neutral this turned out.

Maybe the fact the sickness has overcome us hasn't helped

Summer is here.

The 5 year old finishes up Kindergarten this week

And now I need to fill up her time with something other than school

I have been signing her up for any activity that has the word FREE attached to it.

Should make some interesting fun.

What have I been up to?

Well I have been playing around with a new digital scrapbook software

Like my new header?

I made it all by myself with the help of this software.

Still learning things but I am finding the possibilities are endless.

I was contacted by My Memories Suite to try out their Software.

My first thought.... I don't scrapbook

But I thought again it might be fun to try.

I had all intention to scrapbook the 5-year old

And well we all know what happened.

I bought the supplies, did one page and then it sat in a box for well....

She'll be 6 in July.

Enough said.

So I tried it out and I love it.

I have been designing my own headers for my blogs since I started it.

I used Picnik and Picasa templates.

But I never figured out how to get those extra graphics

I felt limited at times but now there is so much to choose from

And new things are added.

I don't think I can get bored with it.
