I have been working on a little project.
Something for Halloween.
Now I usually do not decorate for Halloween.
But the 5 year old is insisting.
So we will compromise.
I am not into all of the creepy, crawly and icky things.
soooooo....we need something else.
Jack O'Lanterns
I saw something {here} and I pinned it.
On Pinterest.
Where else do we see things?
It was easy.
Simple.
Being Green.
Recycled Book Jack O'Lanterns
I swear it was the easiest thing to do.
I read alot over the Summer.
So I had a pile of paperbacks collecting dust.
I started folding.
And folding.
and MORE folding.
Easy to do while catching up on Project Runway.
A little bit of felt, wire, and cardstock.
Used a cinnamon stick for the stem.
I did distress one of them.
I would love to try one with orange too.
This is the start of my Halloween Mantel.
But I am waiting until October to actually put it up.
Well...because.
I love my Fall Mantel so much.

ReplyDeleteHi I just made one of these did yours only make half a pumpkin? I thought it would go all the way around or did i do something wrong?
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea. You need to glue the covers together. I used my hot glue gun. I found that if you really worked the spine of the book(open and close) it helps loosen things up. Hope this helps !!
ReplyDeleteLove! I would be thrilled if you linked up to my Wickedly Creative Halloween Ideas Party.

I'm fascinated with all the fun new projects people are coming up with, using old books or sheet music. Brilliant! Very cute for Halloween!
