Christmas in July - Pleated Paper Angel - Ornament #5

Yeah it's Friday
I did it.
5 Ornaments in 5 Days.
Ornament #5 was a tough one.
I was completely unsure what to do.
At 11pm last night it came to me.
(so much for going to bed)

My biggest goal for this was to use what I had on hand.
Not one thing was purchased to make any of the ornaments.

So here it goes.....
Presenting Ornament #5

Pleated Paper Angel

Ain't she sweet?

Supplies

Assorted Scrapbooking Paper
4" Paper Doilies
White Feathers
1 1/2" Paper Circle for face
1 1/2" Scallop punch for medallion
 Half round beads for eyes
Greenry for crown
Ribbon and/or Raffia
Glue, Scissors, Paper Punches

Cut paper to 3 1/2" x 12" strip and accordian fold
Staple approx. 3/4"- 1"
Glue to folded doily

Punch out (or cut) 1 1/2" circle for face
Glue onto top of stapled end

Glue on eyes and crown
Use a little bit of paint with a q-tip for blush
Glue on feathers to paper doilies
Glue on bow and medallion
Let dry.

Make one or make three
Use different papers and textures for different looks.
I am even thinking of stringing a bunch together for a garland.
And add letters to the front.
Peace, Joy, Love

This was fun.
I hope to be able to do it again.
I do hope you enjoyed my ideas.
And if you make some please send me a picture.

Happy Christmas in July !
Happy Crafting !

Christmas in July - Felt Gingerbread Men - Ornament #3

Due to the weather Ornament #3 was delayed.
It wasn't sunny in Florida.

May I present Ornament #3
Felt Gingerbread Men

I love this little guy.
Quick and simple.

Supplies

Felt
Embroidery thread (either to match or contrast)
Assorted buttons
Half round beads (I believe I found these at Michael's)
Gingerbread Man Template
Scissors, Needles, Tacky Glue

Now you could add a little stuffing inside them
But I like them flat.
The Blanket Stitch is not as hard as it seems.
There are alot of great tutorials out there on it.
I am still practicing myself.

Now you have a finished Gingerbread man.
Just add some twine and you can have.....

You can do other shapes too.....

Yeah I have been busy.
Great way to use up your felt scraps.
I am thinking a little tree needs to be done.

Ornament #4 with be out later today.
and Ornament #5 tommorrow.
This week has gone by fast.
Just think Christmas is only 159 days away.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas in July - Yarn Lollipop & Candy Ornament

Another Day Another Ornament
Now this one is a revamped ornament
Because I love it
And because it is the mostly viewed post on my blog
Seriously I see it everywhere !!!
And I can't find anymore of the material I used to create it
And yes I have sobbed over this.
Presenting Ornament #2
Yarn Lollipop & Candy Ornament

The Original Lollipop Ornament

Tutorial here

So I needed to change some things.
I have been taking a knitting class so I have been buying yarn.
(more on the class later)
So the "yarn" version was born

Instead of just using the yarn how it was
I did a single crochet stitch
(trust me its easy)
After I made the new version
I knew I needed a companion to it
Presenting the Yarn Wrapped Candy Ornament
Who doesn't love candy????
Supplies
Yarn - I actually used crochet thread (Aunt Lydia's)
Crochet Hook
Round wood circles (found at Michael's)
Ribbon or Twine
Scissors, glue gun

I cut the contact paper 8"x8" and then trimmed after I wrapped it
(best thing was is stuck to itself no glue needed)
Add some pretty ribbon or twine

I also pulled out my mini stamps......

Of course I made mine pink
We all know the 5 year old LOVES pink
But any color would be fun.

Thanks for stopping by.
And remember to come back tommorrow for another one.
Happy Christmas in July.

Christmas in July - Cinnamon Stick Tree - Ornament #1

Welcome to my Christmas in July Ornament Series
I would like to introduce you to my
Cinnamon Stick Tree

I have been making this ornament for years.
For a decorations, a tag, or even a garland.
Its quick and easy.

Supply List.
Cinnamon Sticks (I fine mine at Dollar Tree)
Small Greenery (I use a small tree that I get at Michael's)
Buttons and/or Bells
Ribbon, Raffia, Twine
Wire (to use for hanger)
Scissors and Hot Glue Gun

Cut greenery to specified sizes and glue to stick
Judge the spacing I usually start about the middle of the stick and work up
Glue wire for hanger (cinnamon sticks usually have a hole on the ends)

Add buttons and/or bells
Add ribbon, twine, or raffia
Let your creative juices flow.

So make yourself one
Or two
Or even a bowl full.
I love how they can all look so different.

Come back tommorrow to see the next Ornament.
